Day 1 of my 18 week schedule for the Utah Valley Marathon.  The workout today was supposed to be 8 miles total with 4 miles tempo.  Well I did a 2 mile warm-up over toward Hurricane then got right into the tempo, but I planned on only doing 3 miles, just because I don't think I could have handled 4 yet.  I ran out to 700 South then all the way west until the road turns back to the state road.  The tempo went ok, pretty flat surface which was good.

1 mile 6:13

2 mile 6:22

3 mile 6:33  I was really hurting on this mile, thought for sure I was going to have a little "accident" anyway this mile was also slightly uphill

Overall total was 19:12 so not bad (6:24 average)

Ran 1 mile cool-down and barely made it to McDonald's to use the bathroom, then ran to the middle school to use Jordan's cell phone to have Sunny come pick me up, since I wasn't feeling too great.  Anyway, she was busy and couldn't come get me, so I just ran home easy.

Good day, but 10 miles total is quite the workout for me right now.

Great workout! Thanks for the training schedule. I will be sure to work some of your workouts into my current plan. I liked the hill idea and actually did it with MichelleL last week. Glad you made it to the bathroom!

Great job Dustin. Wow I guess I need to get going too. I didn't realize UVM was that close. If there is one thing that makes time fly for me it is signing up for a race and training for it. Every time I do the time flies by and I feel totally unprepared when the race comes.

Great workout. Glad you got in a good one and felt good about it. Hopefully that will help you keep the momentum going to have something specific to train for.

Great job and I am glad that McDonald's was open...Poor guy that went in after you though.....I will be on a weeek long scout camp, so no UVM for me. Kellie will be running it though.

Tyler- that is nice one less guy to beat me. Actually it would have been fun to have you there. Hopefully, I can get in shape by then. Really been having issues with the hips.
