Why do we do this kind of stuff? 23 miles down the course today. I didn't feel as good as last week, but it was still a good effort, we ran quite a bit faster from the start, so I didn't have as much left as I was hoping to really push the last 10, but at least I was able to still get in a pretty good workout.  Overall time was 2:40:30 (6:58 pace), so that is pretty good for a training run.  I don't think I want to do any more miles on the course until the race.  We had a very large group this morning which made it nice, passed lots of people out training this morning.

Good job this morning Dust. It was good to get everyone together and the temps were nice. 23 miles is 23 miles... so a good one to have in the bank.

Good job. That's a great pace. Hopefully doing such a long run will help with the weight loss, too. What's your target marathon pace?

From Dustin on Sat, Sep 12, 2009 at 12:39:23 from 209.33.192.10

Mike- You said Junkie, where is the junk food?

Steve- Yeah I hope to drop a few more pounds. If everything goes good I hope to be able to race at about 6:15-6:20 pace. That would put me around my current PR. I just didn't feel as strong today as I did last week, but I did have a pretty good week of training, hopefully with a nice taper everything will come together.

Good job! What are the temps down there right now? It always helps when it cools off some! Anymore long runs before the marathon?

From Dustin on Sat, Sep 12, 2009 at 17:10:05 from 209.33.192.10

Jodee, temps this morning were around 70 at the start and 77 at the finish, so it isn't too bad early in the morning, still hot during the day and afternoon. I am ready for fall. Next week I'll probably run around 13 to 15 miles, but no more runs like today.
