Hour of basketball this morning, planning on doing around 9 miles this afternoon, since I don't have driver's education.

I didn't get in 9 miles, only 6 body feeling stiff and sore. Some pain in the lower left shin, kind of weird. I did explore a new place to run over by the Trails subdivision. I ran up this killer hill, up to a water tank. Between the wind and climbing a hill, I was pretty much wiped out.

Good job Ball Boy! Hey are the Jazz going to win tonight?

From Dustin on Wed, May 14, 2008 at 12:23:22

The Jazz have a good chance of winning, if they are going to win one in LA it better be tonight.

Did you play basketball in high school?

From Dustin on Wed, May 14, 2008 at 16:07:36

Two years of basketball in high school, then I quit to focus on running and working to get a scholarship. I probably should get back to focusing more on running. Actually, I'm getting excited for school to be out and a little more time to train with summer approaching.

I think you need to enjoy whatever it is you want to do. If your focus is on having fun at basketball why not keep doing it. To me I don't want to make running a chore, and at times lately it seems like it has been so I've tried to focus on other things as well. Basketball you work up a sweat and its a great alternative to running.

There's some great games tonight. I enjoyed watching the Spurs get wiped-out last night.

Kory,

You are right, some days I feel like running is more of a chore than real enjoyment.

I still really struggle getting out in the mornings. I've always had this problem. In college, I had to always have a teammate come drag me out of bed so I would get my miles in. Funny, usually once I get going I feel good and usually end up having a better day, than if I don't run or play basketball in the mornings.

Dustin,

If I had even 10 percent of your talent as a runner! I would never think running was a chore!
